Family business: working together

Supply Chain Operations was founded by Laurent (the father) in 2011. Since 3 years, Tim (the son) has joined the family business. Working together is a great chance and always triggers many questions from our stakeholders. Here are a few insights on how we operate as a duo.

Managing Supply Chain Operations

Since the onboarding of Tim in 2022, all key decisions have been taken together. Laurent has over time handed over to Tim operational responsibilities. For both, the week is divided in two key part: managing the company and delivering mandates.

Working as a family also extends to Sophie who is Laurent's wife. Sophie contributes to SCO through administrative responsibilities such as accounting and event management.

Contribution to mandates

At SCO, we always bring experienced resources to each mandate. Laurent area of expertise lies in Global Supply Chain setup, bringing his 30+ years of experience. Leveraging his background, his expertise is highly valuable for senior coaching, Supply Chain assessments, Due Diligence and Complex cross-function projects.

Tim expertise lies in Design Network, Logistics operations and Sustainability. He particularly strives in the Operating Model definition, service provider identification and implementation, and Value Proposition design for companies interesting to diversify their services to the Healthcare industry.

Acting as project governors

Each project at Supply Chain Operations is coordinated by a project governor. His role is to animate and inspire Supply Chain Operations resources within the project, sometimes challenging the assumptions and status quo to go further. He participates in the SteerCo ensuring the right level of information and implication of  the key stakeholders.

As project governor, Laurent senior expertise brings perspective on complex projects, always trying to position the decisions within the bigger picture. On the other hand, Tim brings a fresh energetic perspective to each mandate.

A few fun facts

Given the age difference, IT skills and use of technology differ from one another. Laurent manages his schedule both on Outlook but also in a physical diary 😊

None of us has ever missed a plane but one had once taken the wrong train. Guess who?

Laurent and Tim are both hedonist loving food and passionate about wine. The apple does not fall far from the tree...
